The research company Mediascope has started the provision of data about the television viewing of guests. They take into account all Russian people aged over 4, living in cities with a population over 100k. Data will be renewed daily on the software InStar (InfoSys).
According to the data collected from 7-25th of November of 2018, the guest viewing of the whole audience from the age of 4 increases the overall TV rating (Total TVR) by 1.7%. The most significant growth in overall TV rating is caused by children aged from 4 to 11 and viewers aged from 18 to 24- 7% and 3.7% respectively.
The TV viewing is registered by the guests of the participants of the research conducted by Mediascope- in order to do this there are special buttons on the peoplemetre remote. Before starting to watch TV, with the help of these buttons the guest indicates their sex and their age group.
“Guests who watch TV at a friend’s house are fairly young. According to the first set of data from Mediascope, more than 70% of guests’ TV viewing is by people younger than 55, whereas within households this age group only makes up slightly more than 50% of total TV viewing.” Commented Ksenia Achkasova, the Mediascope director of TV research.
